ACORN (Acorn Online Media Set Top Box) - A pioneering British company that developed one of the first set-top boxes. Acorn was an OEM and provided set-top boxes for other companies to market. They all used the same CPU, the ARM 7500 RISC. A more advanced "Strong ARM" CPU was also built. Acorn became "Element 14", which was bought out by the Broadcom Corporation.
