In-Band (Interactive TV) - Interactive data (content) sent as part of a broadcasted data stream (like MPEG-2.)  It's sent via the front channel.  Trigger information can be sent in-band also. (Triggers often show where on your display the enhancements are.) See the Interactive Television Institute.
