Converter - (a.k.a. Digital TV converter or DTV converter, Receiver, Set-top Box) - (1) Often considered another term for "set-top box." A converter of this type enables a standard analog TV to receive multiple channels from an outside source. (2) An electronic device that converts a frequency into another frequency.
