Initialization – Initialization occurs when data from a particular network is initially loaded into a subscriber's set-top box (or equivalent device) for usage. This might occur every time the subscriber turns on their TV system, depending on the type of memory their set-top box or related device uses. This process can be to customized by the subscriber and/or network operator.
