Network DVR (Often known as Remote
Server-Digital Video recorder (RS-DVR) - (nDVR.
Older terms are: Network Personal
Video Recording, nPVR, Head-end-based
Personal Video Recording.) -
(Maybe known as Server-based Personal Video Recorder.)
- Like standard DVRs, Network DVRs
allow subscribers to pause and
rewind live television programs, as well as search and store

operator's location instead of the customer's set-top box. An advantage
to network operators is that this cuts down on the cost of installing
and fixing digital video recorders. See Server Based SVOD Programming.
Network Personal Video Recording
- (nPVR) - (Maybe known
as Server-based Personal Video Recorder.) - Headend-driven
