PAN
(Personal Area
Network) - Typically a short range communication network among computer
related devices such as telephones, fax machines, PDAs and digital
media adapters. While the PAN may extend only a few yards, it
can be used to link to other networks such as the Internet. Some don't
consider a WPAN to be a separate category. See Home Networking.
WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) A PAN using wireless network technologies. Private Network - A connection that allows a select group of subscribers to communicate with each other but no one else. |
