POD - (Point-of-Development) - (May be known as a POD Module or POD Card) - PODs are security/access devices roughly the size of a credit card which are inserted into set-top boxes and certain other devices. The cable interface was specified by the OpenCable Project.  In Europe these may be known as PCMCIA cards.
