Release Window - Often associated with the public releasing of content, such as movies. The time period between, for instances, when a studio releases a movie in theatres and when they release that same movie ondemand and/on DVD. As of early 2006, on average, a movie came out on DVD roughly 4- 4½ months after its release in threatres. Once a movie is out on DVD, the negotiations begin for network broadcast rights. |
