Remote – (2006 definition) - The TV’s or set-top box’ mechanism that makes it respond to a remote control. OnCommand’s “Motion Control” is/was an example. The remote features 8 buttons which guests can press to directly access movies-on-demand, TV-based Internet, email, TV-shows-on-demand, PlayStation games, music-on-demand, hotel services, news and sports. Each button is color-coded in accordance with the corresponding on-screen commands. The remote also features a "Buy" button that allows guests to confirm their purchases; enlarged arrow keys; buttons which correspond to each of the capabilities provided by On Command's new Motion Control technology; and "Back," "Home" and "Go To" buttons to facilitate Web surfing.
    DVR Functionality - Hotel guests who use the company's in-room video on demand services can pause, fast-forward and rewind the titles they purchase via a set of features the company dubs (dubbed) "Motion Control." Motion Control also allows customers to bookmark the point at which they stopped watching a video so that they can resume watching it from the same point later--provided they do so within 24 hours of ordering it.
