Consumer-generated Content - (Peer Production, Commons-based Peer Production, User-generated Content) - Networked communities of often amateur users who produce and offer goods and services, such as video. Typically the Internet is utilized but smaller networks such as Tivo offer this. (Also see Walled Gardens.) Typically anyone can join these communities and provide content. There are those that consider it part of second-generation web, Web 2.0. While Today’s peer-production content generation most often doesn't offer financial compensation, that is changing.
