Motorola - (Motorola Broadband Communications Sector)

General Instruments was bought out by Motorola. This is now the division of Motorola that General Instruments is the integral part of.

Motorola manufactures broadband and iTV related equipment including Set-top Boxes. DCT-2000 and DCT-5000+ terminals are two of their Set-top Boxes. As part of their $33.1 billion in 1999 sales, they manufacture and digital and analog systems and Set-top terminals for broadband cable television operators. Microsoft is using Motorola/GI's DCT-5000+ for MSTV. Motorola is going to make available a Set-top Box that has 3 tuners and will be able to show the TV signal, enable Web browsing, and provide IP telephony services.
