DASE - (Digital Television Application Software Environment) - The ATSC developed the DTV Application Software Environment (DASE) to standardize software used in DTV receivers.  DASE provides specifications for software that decodes and delivers interactive and other broadcast services, within the context of digital TV. The DASE group is a broad-based industry consortium with members from broadcasting, consumer electronics, software, and other industries. DASE is designed to allow interactive applications to run on all digital television receivers and at the same time allow manufacturers to choose their own platforms and operating systems. www.atsc.org
