DAVIC - (Digital Audio-Visual Council) - (Digital Audio-Visual Council) - A former non-profit organization established in Switzerland.  DAVIC was created in August 1994 and as planned, was ended 5 years later. Its task was to create complete sets of specifications using emerging digital audio-visual technologies. Their DAVIC1.3.1 set of specifications became an International Standard. It's associated with the DVB.
