Fixed Wireless Service – (Fixed Wireless Service Providers, {FWSPs}, Broadband Fixed Wireless Access {BWA}) - Fixed Wireless Service may use Multichannel Multipoint Distribution System (MMDS) and may operate in the 2.5 GHz to 2.7 GHz range, supporting up to 10M bit/sec. It’s an alternative type of high speed Internet access. Possible requirements, depending on the provider are an outdoor flat-panel antenna, a wireless modem, perhaps consisting of a low-cost, 802.11b PCMCIA radio card and a specified computing platform.
