ACAP - (Advanced Common Application Platform for Interactive Television) ACAP is a type of middleware primarily based on the GEM (Globally Executable Multimedia) home platform specification which was developed by the DVB consortium and DASE.

Both ACAP and tru2way are derived from the Global Executable MHP (GEM) specification.

At the time of this writing (2008,) ACAP trial runs have been done in Mexico. IPTV middleware architecture is/was being used to support data broadcast services based on ACAP, OpenCable Platform and MHP in Korea (and probably other places depending on when you read this.) In the U.S., a field trial was organized by ATSC.
